Mechanics

#PhaseDescription
1Green Phase (Ranged)Always the opening phase. Zulrah rises in the centre and attacks with Ranged. Pray Protect from Missiles. Stand on the western pillar tile. Venom clouds appear — move when they land under you.
2Blue Phase (Magic)Zulrah submerges and resurfaces on the west or east side. Attacks exclusively with Magic — switch to Protect from Magic. Swap to your Magic gear set. Venom clouds continue to spawn.
3Red Phase (Melee / Jad Phase)Zulrah resurfaces in one of three positions and alternates between Ranged and Magic attacks simultaneously. Prayer switch every 2–3 hits. Jadeite snakelings spawn during this phase — ignore them or bring a cannon.

Tips & tricks

  • Learn one rotation first — there are two main rotations (Standard and Tanzanite). Both start green.
  • Mark your minimap tile positions for each phase before your first kill attempt.
  • Serpentine helm eliminates all venom damage — it is worth the cost for learning kills.
  • Gear switches take practice; prioritise prayer switches over gear switches when starting out.
  • Zulrah cannot be attacked while submerged — use that window to eat, restore prayer, or swap gear.
  • If you lose the rotation, simply step back and observe where Zulrah rises — do not guess.
