Mechanics

#PhaseDescription
1Axe Phase (opening)Vardorvis begins throwing axes along the ground in straight horizontal or vertical lines. Axes are telegraphed by a shadow on their path. Step off the line immediately — axes deal 50+ damage on contact. He simultaneously attacks with Melee.
2Self-Healing PhaseVardorvis periodically lowers his head and begins healing. Three tendrils extend from his body to the arena floor. Destroy all three tendrils before he completes the heal — each tendril has low HP. Failure results in a full HP recovery.
3Enrage Phase (below 33% HP)Axes spawn more frequently and at higher speed. Tendril heal attempts become more common. Maintain consistent movement patterns — left-right or rotation — to avoid the axes while dealing DPS.

Tips & tricks

  • Axes follow strictly straight lines — sidestep perpendicular to the shadow path to avoid them.
  • During the healing phase, kill all three tendrils as fast as possible — even one surviving tendril completes his heal.
  • Osmumten's Fang's two-roll accuracy mechanic means it barely misses, making it ideal for high-Defence bosses.
  • Use DWH spec on entry to lower Vardorvis's Defence for faster kill times.
  • Protect from Melee throughout — his Melee auto-attacks are his primary damage source.
  • This is a Desert Treasure 2 boss — the questline must be progressed to unlock access.
